Frequently Asked Questions

  • At Growth and Compassion Therapy, we provide individual psychotherapy for teens (13+) and adults via telehealth. Psychotherapy, or talk therapy, is a confidential and supportive space where you can address challenges like depression, anxiety, stress, trauma, and relationship issues. Our clinicians are bilingual and can provide therapy services in English, Spanish, and Mandarin.

Our goal is to create a safe and affirming environment for you to explore emotions, develop healthier coping strategies, and build resilience. Sessions are conducted through secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platforms, making therapy accessible anywhere in California.

  • Getting started is easy! Simply reach out to us via email or phone to schedule a free 15-minute consultation. You can also schedule consultation calls on each clinician’s bio page. During this call, we’ll discuss your needs, answer any questions, and determine if we’re a good fit. If you decide to move forward, we’ll schedule your first intake session.

  • Our clinicians are contracted with different insurance panels. Please check each clinician’s bio for details:

We also offer Superbills upon request if you’d like to use out-of-network benefits.

  • Therapy begins with a thorough intake assessment (1-3 sessions) to explore your background, experiences, and current concerns. Together, we’ll develop treatment goals to ensure therapy focuses on what matters most to you.

Most clients meet weekly, but frequency may vary based on your needs. Therapy is a collaborative process, and we may encourage practicing skills discussed in sessions to help you progress toward your goals. With your consent, we can also collaborate with other providers or include loved ones to ensure comprehensive support.

  • The length of therapy depends on factors like your goals, the severity of symptoms, and how actively you participate. We’ll regularly evaluate your progress and adjust treatment plans as needed. Once your goals are met, we can discuss concluding therapy.

  • If you’re experiencing a crisis or need immediate help, please call 911 or go to the nearest emergency room. You can also contact the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline by dialing 988 for 24/7 support. Therapy with us is not designed for emergencies, but we’re happy to support you in ongoing care.
